Carmesí Guitar Duo is formed by Spanish guitarists Paola Requena and Isabel Martínez. After developing international careers as soloists that led them to perform on stages all over the world, they began to play together, thus discovering a special affinity and a same way of understanding music. They debuted as a duo at ADDA (Auditorio Diputación Alicante) in 2020, and their most recent appearances include concerts in Spain, Morocco and Rusia.
Paola Requena
Awarded in numerous international competitions, including the Francisco Tárrega Competition (Benicasim, 2007), Printemps de la guitare de Charleroi (Belgium, 2008), Andrés Segovia International Competition (La Herradura, 2008), Comarca del Condado Competition (Jaén, 2003), among others.
She graduated from the Ecole Nórmale de Musique in Paris with Alberto Ponce and from the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Alicante with Ignacio Rodes, where she obtained the Extraordinary End of Degree Award.
Paola Requena has an active presence in concert series such as the Sergei Rachmaninov "Russian Conservatory" in Paris, the Museum of Musical Instruments (M.I.M) in Brussels, Maison de l'Europe in Paris, the Imperial Palace "Hofburg" and the Cervantes Institute of Vienna. She has also toured in countries such as Algeria, Italy or the Czech Republic.
Since 2007, she has been recording for television broadcast by TVE1, TVE2, Clan, Antena 3, and Tele 5, among others.
Isabel Martínez

She is regularly invited to attend international festivals and has performed in prestigious venues such as the Milton Court-Barbican Center in London, ADDA in Alicante, the National Theater of Costa Rica, the Hangzhou Grand Theater in the Republic of China, or the Taipei National Concert Hall in Taiwan, among others.
She finished her higher studies with an Extraordinary Prize at the Conservatorio Superior "Óscar Esplá" in Alicante, with Ignacio Rodes. Later, she graduated with Distinction in the Master of Performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. She is a graduate of the Master's Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Alicante and the Master's Degree in Research and Interpretation from the Conservatorio Superior of Alicante.
Isabel Martínez combines her concert career with her passion for teaching at the Conservatorio de Música de San Javier, Murcia.
